The nursing process contains 5 steps, they are assessment phase, diagnosing phase, planning phase, implementing phase and evaluation phase. It is a scientific process and the nurse must think critically to complete the nursing process. It is evidence based process so that nurse should always think about the past experience and apply the appropriate steps in patient care. Critical thinking is always applied by nurses to solve the problems and to make decisions.

Critical thinking is an important process for an efficient nursing intervention. The skills we need to think critically are varied according to the problems and they are observation, analysis, evaluation, problem solving etc.

Critical thinking is very important in nursing why because nurse should prioritize and make important decisions that can save life of the patient.  

Nowadays, critical thinking skills are recognized as necessary component of nursing. Nurses are working in highly complex environment. The education is the most effective way that can expand their critical thinking. Through this critical thinking skills, nurses can become transformational leaders. They can generate more creative solutions to every day problems in their work places.
