Problem: Suppose you are part of an economic analysis team charged with recommending a policy response to pesticide risks. Your team decides to use risk-benefit analysis as its risk management strategy. On the risk side of the analysis, your team reviews the following data from the risk assessment process. Interpret each of these quantitative findings about pesticide risk, by stating precisely what the numerical value(s) mean or imply in each case. Be specific. (i) Pesticide W: Reference Dose (RfD) = 0.005 (10 points) (ii) Pesticide X: threshold level of 0 for infants and children (10 points) (iii) Pesticide Y: carcinogenic risk of 0.0075 percent (10 points) (iv) Pesticide Z: a dose (D)-response (R) function modeled as R = 0 for all D < 0.6, R = – 0.3 + 0.5D for all D ≥ 0.6. (10 points) On the benefit side of the analysis, briefly describe two distinct benefits to society that are relevant to a risk-benefit analysis of pesticides. ((10 points))
Answer;
Chemical pesticides are regularly used for rice growing.so that insects are resisted. Now for the understanding of the risk benefit analysis let us try to replace it with fully gknown ancient and green pesticide which ha no chemicals I'll effects as well it shall be a nourished or a supplement for a god rice production
For our study let us call the chemical pesticides being used as CX and our chosen green pesticide as GN
In specific I propose the use of NEEM PASTE diluted with mixture of COW DUNG added in the ratio of 1:1:2 of water GN Is ready
Risk of pesticides
Chemical
Hazardous to environment
Have potential I'll effects while applying
Artificial
Unhealthy to people who administer
I'll health to consumers of so grown rice
The benefits of chemical use even though less but still some to say
Very effective
Shall ensure nil insects attack or nil insects
Better crop yields
In time growth
As against above our Green pesticide GN RISKS are less but few to mention
Unknown a bit
Old and traditional with little scientific research of modern
People to still understand its application ways and methods
Annual to start till a proper mechanisation is developed for fast and uniform application
GN Benefits are many to name important few are
Green
Natural
Bio degradable
Highly useful as a nourished
No killings of insects but very good resistant
No side effects in produce
No I'll effects to administration as well sourounds are safe clean and green
Healthy farm produce
Cost wise shall be cheap and economical
Nil chemical effects
Coming to the advantage to stake holders
This GN Proposed is
100% fail proof
Clean and green
Every stake holder is safe, appreciate, encourage this whole hesrtedly and unanimously as well universally
