Environmental variables such as air quality, noise, toxic exposures, light, temperature, humidity, and aesthetics can influence a nurse's scope of practice in a clinical setting.
For pursuing a comfortable practice adequate environmental elements are necessary. Good day light actually spreads energy both in body and mind. There should be proper and clean ventilation or air flow. The "keep silence" board of the hospitals disclose the necessity of calm atmosphere devoid of noises. The hospital environment should be toxin free so that patients feel secure in a clean and pure environment. Temperature should be moderate and air conditioners are recommended. Humidity decreases the energy and leads to tiredness and exhaustion. A well organized interiors and the work place fills a new energy of aesthetics.
Patient variables like increased consumer demands, communication barriers, violence, less cooperation.
The patients are more educated than the older days now. They know more things regarding the basic standards of care and they demand more. There can be inhibition for the patients sometimes disclose the total complaints due to many reason which causes communication gaps or barriers that influence the nurse's scope of practice. sometimes there can be violent approaches or less cooperation from patient or representatives which decreases treatment outcome.
