Other countries should make Bhutan a role model in how the small Eastern Himalayan country become one of the greenest and nature friendly country in the world. The eco-friendly country teach the world how to manage the carbon emission. Bhutan is a carbon negative country (emits more carbon from atmosphere than it release). While many other countries are struggling to manage their carbon emission. The main source of electricity in the country is hydropower. What else we can expect from a country which protects environment by its own constitution. The most interesting thing is that the constitution of Bhutan states that a minimum of 60% of Bhutan’s total land should be maintained under forest cover for all time.

Many countries, like U.K and etc. are studying how to implement the policy of Bhutan in their countries to decrease carbon emission as a step towards combating climate change. However it is not necessary that the countries will success in making Bhutan a model, because the people of Bhutan never wanted more industrialization in their country.

However the Policy of Bhutan to protect the environment than anything else made many negative impact as well. Their policy less attracted multi-national companies and foreign investors. Due to these policies the country is very less engaged in international trade. But this might not be a real issue to the country that is measuring the Gross National Happiness to measure progress instead of Gross Domestic Production. The country is declaring that happiness of people are the real wealth, not economic stability.
