explain the john adairs model and managerial grid with an example.
JOHN ADAIRS MODEL
It is a action centered leadership model which is deloped by John Adair in 1960. Under this model there are three overlapping circles or we can say elements, which are Task, Team, Individual. These are the main components which needs to get focused and need full responsibility. So these are the areas which a team leader needs to focus on and needs to manage them with appropriate balance. These actions will help you to achieve targets and to make your team more effective. For example Veronica is a team leader and she is not able to achieve the target of the company which was delegated to her, in this Veronica is responsible for the work which is not done and for the whole team so she should follow these three elements to achieve the target of her team:
MANAGERIAL GRID
It is also a leadership style developed by Robert R. Blake and Jane Mouton in 1964. This leadership style focused on the people and the production. Under the people it focuses on the employees interest, and their development to achieve goals. Under production it focuses on the results, objectives, production and the efficiency. For example XYZ Company is a huge company but do no focuses on the growth and welfare of their employees , so their team leader needs to learn the components of managerial grid to make their company more effective and efficient.
