Polysomnography is a sleep study method. Itvis multi-parametric test. It is used to study sleep and used as diagnostic tool in sleep medicines. Then get a result from this,itvis know as polysomnogram. Itvis denoted as PSG.
In a typical polysomnogram record minimum 12 channels required for 22 wire attachment for the patient. These wires are differ in each and every lab or according to doctors need. Here minimum of 3 channels used for EEG.one or two used for measuring the air flow. For chin muscle tone one or two are used. For eye movement measurements two are used.one or more are used for leg movement.one or two are used for the measurement of heart rate and their rhythm.one for oxygen saturation and one is used as belt ,it will be used to measure the chest wall movement and upper abdominal wall movement. The wires in each channel records the data and they are recorded in a central box, they are connected with the computer for the purpose of recording, storage and displaying of data.
