Diabetis has become one of the largest public health problems to date. decreased physical activity overnutrition and nutrition transitions caused by changes in lifestyle contribute to the increasing incidence of chhronic metabolic deseases as well as deaths related to them. The shuft from undernutrition to over nutrition indicates that chronic disease affluence have become a public health problem.hence sustainable health related goals have been developed for the prevention of these diseases.

Nursing process of DM-2

  • Risk for unstable blood glucose related to decreased production of insulin
  • Risk for infection related to low immunity
  • Risk for disturbed sensory perceptioin related to diabetic neuropathy
  • Risk for ineffective therapeutic regimen management
  • Deficient knowledge related to desiese condition
  • Risk for injury

  • Risk for impared skin integrity

Interventions

  • monitor glucose ,access patients hba1c, access the signs of hyyperglyciemia
  • access anxiety,tremours,and slurring of speech
  • assess feet for temperature pulse color and sensation
  • assess the patients current knowledge and understsnding of prescribed diet
  • assess the pattern of physiccal activity
  • moniter the signs for hypoglycemia
  • teach the patient to perform glucose analysis and administration of insulin
  • report hyper tention
  • monitor urin albumin
  • instruct the patient to take medications and insulin as directed.

nurses promoting general health hcare while the doctors focus on diagnosis diseases and treating them nurses can educate the patient about related issues and teach them how to take better care of themselves. Admist the need to improve health care delivery and sustained a better living for the people , the role of nurses has become multidimensional . Not only are they performing their typical duties in hospital caring for their patients and managing essential tasks they are also playing a role in promoting health car awarness among diffrent segments of society.
