Three(3)
important challenges that JetBlue is facing now
:
1. Operations : JetBlue has been often known to be
worse off in terms of operations, viz. flight durations, delays,
etc. It has been a low-cost carrier but risks losing its customers
as on-time performances do matter these days.
2. Revenue hit due to pandemic : The airlines
industry as a whole has come to a halt for atleast two to three
months during the extended lockdown owing to the Covid19 pandemic.
Sales would have definitely taken a big hit and its operational
costs added with zero revenue would have resulted in huge margins
of losses reflecting on its decreasing stock prices.
3. High labor costs : The JetBlue workforce has
also stressed for unionization over the years, which implies an
eventual demand for higher labor costs viz. pilot salaries, cabin
crew wages, etc. To counter these high costs, JetBlue had increased
fees on checked bags by a noticeable margin. This might detoriate
customer satisfaction and affect generating decent revenue.
