group..Due to unflammed joints there will be less ROM for older

including,bathing,dressing,toileting transfer,continence and
feeding..we can use Katz index of independence for ADLs and Barthel
index for functional evaluation..using Lawton IADL assessment model
can help for evaluating their activities and develop plan of
care..
Face assessment:
Assess patient facial features
racial,genetic,emotional and nutritional factors can affect facial
features..Watch patient eye ,eye brows,nose,mouth are centered and
symmetrical..If it is asymmetrical it suggest a stroke..check for
facial skin,looseness and wrinkling which results decreases in
elasticity,subcutaneous fat and moisture..older adults must have
20/40 vision or better..due to structural changes in the eye they
may have glare it can make to risk of fall and injury..
Health education:
National center for health statistics US adults ages 60 and above
were underweight..it increases the risk of malnutrition,fatigue and
weakness..Basically they need 1000calories per day to gain 2 pounds
weekly..women ages 60 and above need 1600 calories daily if they
are sedantary..
advice patient to have high calorie,potasium,calcium,vitamin
D,vitamin b12,minerals and dietary fibers..
advice to add fruits and vegetables in daily meals..
Active exercise for 10minutes as per doctor advice can improvement
their physical activity..
Advice them to consume more nuts and seeds including
peanut,butter,avocados,cheese,eggs,hummus,full-fat yogurt or whole
milk..
advice to drink a nutient-rich,high calorie medical nutrition shake
between the meals..
advice to get daily meal plan from dietetian..
