Ans(5) The procedure to clean and prepare a conventional dental mirror during a normal dental procedure generally takes seven to ten seconds. This procedure has following stpes:
Preparation of mirror is required because, at room temperature, dental mirrors tend to “fog up” when these are placed inside a patient's warm, humid mouth. This causes decrease in visibility in the mirror. Hence, they are needed to be defogged which is done by the process of preparation.
Ans(7): The irrigating fluid is sprayed on the dental mirror inside the patient's mouth while the surgeon is operating. The irrigation fluid gets collected in oral cavity and should be directed toward buccal side (outer side of teeth towards cheek side).
