Solutions

Expert Solution

In a reaction basically a set of reactants combine under certain conditions to form the products which are formed by the mixing of reactants.

Now in a reaction the reactants and the products that are produced are separated by arrow.

for example( N2 + 3H2)---> (2NH3)

In this ( N2 + 3H2) are reactants and (2NH3) is product.we can see they are separated by an arrow.

The direction of the arrow is seen.The reactants are written on the Tail side or Back side of arrow i.e

(( N2 + 3H2)--->) .we can n2 and h2 are written tail side or back of arrow.It shows the reactants from which the products are to be produced.

Now the products are written on Head side of arrow or the front side of arrow i.e.---> (2NH3).We can see nh3 written on head side or front side of arrow.

Thus the compounds written on front side or head side of arrow are the compounds that will be produced.

You need to locate the arrow and then see the compounds on the head side of arrow.These are products which are to be produced .

This is a nice question when you find it out, and I am really looking for a proper answer. Take quicksilver (Hg) in the periodic table. It has one proton more than Gold (melting point 1337.33 K), and one less than Thallium (melting point 577 K). It belongs to the same group as Zinc (692.68 K) and Cadmium (594.22 K). All not very high melting points, but still dramatically higher than quicksilver (234.32 K). When his neighbors melt, quicksilver vaporizes...
