Elaborate on the difference between primary and secondary Parkinson's disease
#. Parkinson Disease :-
Is a degenerative disorder of the basal ganglia (corpus striatum) involving the dopaminergic nigrostriatal pathway producing a syndrome of abnormal movement called parkinsonism.
Parkinson classification :-
Primary or idiopathic Parkinson disease - loss of pigmented neurons in the substantia nigra
Secondary parkinsonism- due to trauma, infection, neoplasm, atherosclerosis, toxins, drug intoxication
Secondary form of Parkinson :-
Drug-induced parkinsonism caused by neuroleptics, antiemetics, and antihypertensives is the most common cause of the secondary form and is usually reversible.
