IBW
Formula : 106 pounds + 6× number of inches over 5 feet tall.
IBW = 106lb + 6×15
= 106 lb + 90
= 196 lb
Percentage of IBW
Formula: (weight × 100)÷ IBW
(254 × 100) ÷ 196
= 25400 ÷ 196
=129.59%
Percentage of UBW
%UBW = Current body weight ÷ usual body weight ×100
= 254lb ÷ 286lbs × 100
= o.888 × 100
= 88.8%
Percentage of weight loss
Loss weight ÷ UBW × 100
Loss weight = 286 - 254
=32
% of weight loss = 32 ÷ 286 × 100
=0.1119 × 100
= 11.19 %
Convert weight from pound to kilogram
The weight is given in lbs. So we should convert it into kilograms.
1 lbs = 0.453592 kg
254 lbs = 254 × 0.453592
=115.212 kg
Height in inches
1 feet = 12 inches
6 feet 3 inch = 6 × 12 + 3
= 72 + 3
= 75 inches
Convert height from inches to meters
1 inch = 0.0254 meter
75 inches = 75 × 0.0254
= 1.905 meters
BMI
Formula: Weight (lbs) ÷ [height ( inch)]2 × 703
= 254 ÷ (75)2 × 703
= 254 ÷ 5625 × 703
= 0.04555556 × 703
= 31.74
According to BMI Classification his weight status is obese (>30 is obese)
RMR using Mifflin st. Jeor formula
For men, ( 10 × weight in kg ) + (6.25 × height in centimeters) - ( 5 × age in years) + 5
= (10 × 115.212) + (6.25 × 190.5) - ( 5 × 64) + 5
= 1152.12 + 1190.625 - 320 + 5
= 2342 - 320 + 5
= 2027.745
