1. What health-promotion strategies about lifestyle changes could be used to reduce the risk of developing cardiovascular disease?
2. What are some strategies for reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease in our population?
1)Health promotion strategies for lifestyle changes to decrease the risk of cardiovascular disease can be done via public health compaign, public posters which are symbolic and easy to understand, Didatic( telling approach) from Healthcare practitioner, one to one counselling and working with community stakeholders. Government can make the compaign regarding lifestyle changes by using small yet meaningful phrases with pictures like Quit Smoking, Eat healthy food, Don't stress, Lose weight, Get moving.
2)Watch what you eat : Eat low fat products, Switch to skimmed milk, avoid more than 6gms salt a day, use oil like sunflower oil(PUFA) , olive oil(MUFA).
Excersie regularly.
Stop smoking - the risk of cough disappears in a smoker within three month of quitting and that of heart disease decrease within 2yrs of quitting .
Stop alcohol consumption.
Control your blood sugar level.
Control your blood pressure.
