The medical assistant does play a role in education and delivery of contraceptive choices that a patient makes so it is important to know the many options that are out there. What are some of the duties that the MA will have in the medical office, when dealing with contraception?

Medical assistant are the Clinical assistant who support physician at work. Role of Medical assistant. *Maintaining medical records of patient *Receiving calls at physician clinic. *Educating patient about treatment. *Assisting in medical procedures. * Schedule appointments. *Prepare patient for medical procedure like phlebotomy ,X ray. *Perform physical examination.

Medical assistant not to do interpretation of lab values of test, not to diagnosed ,not to do medical procedure just want to do assistance to physician. Not to involved in decision making of treatment to patient.  

Contraceptive or family planning methods are Birth control measures .There are different types of Contraceptive methods. 1. Temporary methods. a. Barrier methods(physical, chemical ,combined b. Intrauterine devices c. Hormonal methods. d.Miscellaneous methods. 2. Permanent methods. Vasectomy, tubectomy.

Medical assistant role is to educate about different methods of contraceptives their uses , advantages, disadvantages , Contraindications extra. As medical assistant not to do decision about choice of treatment for patient only she has to provide education about contraceptives.
