Explain how the homocysteine hypothesis relates to coronary artery disease in an individual with low serum cholesterol. What factors play a role in this hypothesis and how does the disease occur?
The homocysteine hypothesis suggests the higher incidence of coronary artery disease with decresed homocysteine in the body throught the development of ateriosclerosis and therby vascular damage.
In people with low serum cholestrol is mainly through the disfunctioning of the endothelial layers and adhesion of monocytes to these regions.
