C. What is meant by sustainability? Discuss its ‘three pillars’ with some detail and examples.
Ans:- Sustainability is the ability or capability to be sustained or maintained at a certain level or ,certain rate. Renewable energy may be the most understandable example of sustainability (solar energy,wind energy). The three pillars of sustainability are economic sustainability, social sustainability and environmental sustainability.
1. Economic sustainability:- Economic sustainability support long term economic development without harmfully impacting cultural ,social and environmental factors of the society. Eg:- current and future value of natural resources.
2. Environmental sustainability:- Environmental sustainability aimed in the protection of environmental resources for future generations.
3. Social sustainability:- Social sustainability is the active way of handling and detecting business influence on workers, customers,local societies etc. The importance of social sustainability is the relation with societies and people.
