What are standards and why do they exist? What role does Standards Australia play in the standardisation process and what is the process for developing an Australian Standard?

A standard generally means a level of quality or attainment which
can be met to meet the standard. Standard generally means to
provide the requirements, specifications, guidelines or
characteristics which can be used consistently to ensure that the
materials and the products, process and the services are fit for
the purpose and meet the quality mark or not. The standards exist
for bringing the real and measurable benefits for every sector
which can be used as a measure and a norm or a model and can be
compared with a product or process or service etc.
Standards Australia is Australia's peaks Standards body, and it is
a non-government organization which coordinates the standardization
activities of the nation and also facilitates the development of
Australian Standards by collaborating and working with Government,
industry and the community. The process for developing an
Australian Standard is based on the 3 internationally recognized
principles such as:
