A formula for an ophthalmic ointment is as follows:
Tobramycin 0.15 grams
Dexamethasone 2.5
%
Ointment base, ad 0.5 grams
a.) How much dexamethasone is required to make this product (answer to the nearest 0.1 mg):
b.) How much tobramycin would be needed to make 1 lb of this ointment? (answer to nearest whole gram):
Ans:- If solution is 100 gm than it contain 2.5 gm of dexamethasone is equal to 2.5%.
But if you want 1 lb (pound) of solution it means you want 453.592 gm of solution.
a.) Dexamethasone = 0.125 mg
b.) Tobramycin = 0.4761 gm
