Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act i.e. PPACA is also known as the Affordable Care Act established by the president Barack Obama in 2010 in United state, as an effective healthcare reform law to regulate the health insurance organizations and to control the expenditure of community person on the healthcare.

Advantages of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act

  • It has provided the expansion of the coverage for the patients having the problems of serious chronic diseases like diabetes, heart disease, cancer and HIV/AIDS, among others.
  • It also reduced the overall healthcare cost on long turn basis.
  • It had improved access to health insurance and services for so many Americans
  • It had assured the easier access of health insurance alternatives.

Disadvantages of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act
