In a study of the effect of size of team on the volume of communications within the team, can a double-blind procedure be utilized? a single blind?

Solutions

Expert Solution

In a study of the effect of size of team+

A single blind procedure It is a procedure in which the participants are kept ignorant about the study which is to be conducted on them but the experimenters are aware of which subjects are receiving the treatment or independent variable.

A double blind procedure    It is a procedure in which both the participants and experimenters do not know who is receiving the treatment.

In a study of the effect of the size of the team on the volume of communications within the team, a single blind procedure can be ultilized because it will be easy to find the results of this experiment in the single blind procedure as in double blind procedure it is quite difficult to carry out this experiment. In single blind procedure, the participants are kept in dark what the researchers are looking for and what treatment they are getting so that they cannot alter their behavior this will lead to unbiased results.

Ten participants were recruited for a study on the effect of target size on a psychomotor task. The researcher predicted that larger targets would result in faster psychomotor response. Five participants were randomly assigned to group 1 (large target size) and the other five were randomly assigned to group 2 (small target size). Data are below. What is the effect of the following changes on the volume of 1 mol of an ideal gas? (Note: You should NOT need to do any explicit numerical calculations. Use your qualitative understanding of how volume depends on different experimental variables.) 1. The pressure is changed from 0.5 atm to 760 mm Hg (at constant temperature). 2. Another 3 mol of gas (to the existing one mol) is introduced through a stopcock (at constant temperature and pressure). 3. The pressure...
