To test this, the counselor obtains random sample of students who are part of the EOPS program and a sample of students who are not and records their GPAs. The data is given below. Test the claim that students who are in the EOPS program have more consistent grades at the α=0.05 level of significance.

Test for normality :-

EOPS:-

• Using QQPlot, we can say that EOPS is approximate normal.

Non-EOPS:-

• Using QQPlot, we can say that Non-EOPS is approximate normal.

As a result we can say both samples comes from Normal populations , Hence we can use independent samples t-test.

Test Using R:-

Decision:-

Since, P-value = 0.609 > α=0.05

Hence, we fail to reject H0 at α=0.05

Conclusion:-

There is insufficient evidence to support the claim that the students who are in the EOPS program at Cypress College have more consistent grades than students who are not in the EOPS program
