Cultural belief that may encounter the nurse when providing care
to a woman in labor are the following:-
- In some culture the father does not attend the birth but the
mother does.
- Violence and culture women avoid moving too much and some women
stare lying down, some prefer to sit or squat.
- As childbirth is a time of transition and social celebration in
all culture , also influences experience of perinatal loss for the
meaning of death and virtual surrounding that are culturally
bound.
- So healthcare decision making by families or tribal
leaders.
2) there are four component to the birth process-
- Passageway-there is a pelvic inlet and outlet that is present
over the top opening of the pelvis and outlet is the outer portion
of the pelvis from where the baby head exits. Show the type of the
pelvis also matter during labour. For example gynecoid pelvis is
the most favourable pelvis.
- Passenger-passenger means mother. Foetus need to be positioned
properly to make it through the pelvis and the most optimal
position for birth is possible anterior.
- Power-contractions and pushing need to be strong enough to
dilate the cervix and ate the baby in his/her descent.
- Psyche-a good emotional state helps mother cope with the pain
effectively helps her tune into her and helps guide her to her
babies need and allow the other P's to sync effectively.
