What is Capitalism? What is Imperialism? Do you see any relationship between the two?
Capitalism is an economic system based upon private ownership of the means of production and their operation for profit. It is an economic system where private entities own the factor of production. The four factors are entreprenurship, capital goods, natural rrsources, and labour. Capitalistic ownership means two things. First, the owner control the factors of production. Second, they derive their income from thei ownership. That gives them the ability to operate there business effeciently. Capitalism requires a free market economy to succeed. It distributes goods and services according to the law of supply and demand.
Imperialism is a word derived from the latin word "imperium" meaning to rule over. Imperialism occurs when a strong nation takes over a weak nation or region and dominates its economic, political and cultural life. Imperialism is an action that involves a nation extending its power by the acquisition of inhabited territory. Hence, imperialism is advocating dominance and attempts to centralize power(economic, political, cultural) over a large and diverse groups of land and people.
There is no relationship between Capitalism and Imperialism. As capitalism is a purely economic system. Imperialism has everything to do with politics and political systems.
