The managed care or managed health care used in united states to describe a group of activities intended to reduce the cost of providing for profit health care and providing american health insurance while improving the quality of care. The managed health care changed medical settings as the health care profession work to offer quality care by following techniques. * Cost sharing -High deductible health plan are used by insurance to keep costs down by incentivizing consumers to select cheaper providers and possibly utilize less health care. *Use providers network :Providers of health care maintain information that is easily accessible. * Utilization review : Use evidence based guidelines to provide care . managed health care use a panel or network of health care providers to provide care to enrollees.
Providing quality care by following : * Designated doctors and health Care facilities,known as a provider network,which enrollees are required or incentivized to use. * Formal utilization review and quality improvement programs including disease management and case management. *An emphasis on preventive care including wellness incentives and patient education.
Medical assistants are essential staff at most primary care practices. Medical assistants are responsible for a much broader range of activities * Works as primary point of contact for panties. * Reconciling medication. * Health coaching and motivational interviewing. *Patient education. * Performing injections ,tests ,and procedures . These roles of medical assistants help in providing quality managed care.
