Associated Grocery Stores (AGS) has always used paper bags for sacking groceries in its chain of retail supermarkets. Management has noticed that some competitors are offering reusable bags to their customers. AGS management isn’t certain just how strongly consumers in its markets feel about having to bring the reusable bags every time they visit the supermarket. Select two projective techniques. First, defend your use of a projective technique. Second, describe in detail how your two chosen techniques would be applied to this research problem.
Answer. The Projective Techniques are indirect methods used in qualitative research. These techniques allow researchers to tap into consumers deep motivations, belief's, attitudes and values. 1.I will take 1) RORSCHACH INKBLOT TEST and 2)THEMATIC APPERCEPTION TEST. RORSCHACH INKBLOT TEST, is the famous Projective test, came from the psychoanalytic branch of clinical psychology and it involves use if ambiguous images and the consumer's are been asked to name what they see and responses are interpreted by psychologist specifically trained to di test. 2.THEMATIC APPERCEPTION TEST(TAT) is a widely used projectuve technique used in mainstream clinical psychology where an image of an ambiguous social scene is shown and an individual is asked to create a story to explain the image, the assumption is the sub-conscious and non conscious feelings and belifs will be projected onto ambiguous stimuli, this by the above two procedures can be applied to the given research problem.
