In own words.. answer the following.
1) Population : population is a whole or whole group or may be pool , from which the samples are drawn for the estimation . population has parameters..
for example , Normal population has mean and standard deviation as parameters.
Sample : sample is a subset of population which is drawn from population. sample has statistics and this statistics is used to estimate parameter.
2) Mean : mean in statistics is called as the average value of the data , it is one of the measures of central tendancies in statistics .
Median : median is the mid value of the observations and it divides the observations into two equal halves and it is also one of the measures of central tendancies. Also denoted by Q2 in term of quartiles.
Quartiles : quartile is the that particular term in statistics which divide the entire data into 4 parts .
Q1 , Q2 , Q3 , Q4 , where Q1 is the 25th percentile , Q2 is the median and 50th percentile , Q3 is 75th percentile and Q4 is 100th percentile .
3) Alpha : alpha which is denoted by '' . It is also called as the level of significance ,which states that alpha percent of chances are that error can be occurred during test .
It is also the probability of type I error , which is the probability of rejecting null hypothesis when null hypothesis is true .
test statistics : it is the test and also is the randam variable which is conducted on the basis of sample data and used in hypothesis testing .
p- value : p value is the that particular probability which gives us the strong evidence to reject the null hypothesis .
conclusiion : conclusion is based on the p value of the test , if p value is less than , we reject the null hypothesis and if p value is greater than , we fail to reject the null hypothesis .
interpretation : in statistics , interpretation means whether the claim made by researcher is legitable or not on the basis of p value and rejection/acceptance of null hypothesis .
4) x is the sample mean , which is used while performing test statistics .
n : n is the sample size of the sample .
p : p is the sample proportion , which values between 0 and 1.
I HOPE I WAS HELPFUL AND HAVE CLEARED YOUR DOUBTS.
