Cultural Care ( 4 cs and interventions) include;
1. Asking the patient what do they CALL their problem? As part of the intervention, we should ask, “What does the patient think is wrong?” For; getting at the patient's perception of the problem.
2. What CAUSED the problem?
This tries to get at the patient’s beliefs regarding the source of the problem.
3. How do you COPE with the patient’s condition?
The practitioner should ask, “What has been done to try to make it better? “How has the patient been coping with their illness?” “What effect it had on their life/daily routine?”
4. What CONCERNS do the patients have regarding their condition?
Addressing questions such as “How serious does the patient think the disease is?” “What potential complications does the patient fear?” “How does it interfere with their life, or their ability to function?” It is important to understand the patient’s perception of the course of the illness and the fears they may have about it so you can be addressed.
