When examining the different contributions of unions in the past, is it safe to say that the unions have worn out their welcomes (since the government can do all of the tasks already), or is there still hope that the unions can find ways to represent the workers? Please respond with 250 words or more.
In recent years governments are working towards reducing dependency of unions by providing proper benefits to labors and though governments are able to provide or meet the needs of labors, the presence of unions cannot be ruled out as it always acts as a platform to represent the views and problems of labors to the management.
The benefits of unions are:
1. To be able to bargain for better wages: Depending on the growth
of the organization, unions would be able to demand for better
wages which would always work as a remainder for management for not
taking the labours for granted
2. Reasonable work hours: The union would help to avoid any
exploitation of labours so that they end up working for more hours
for the same wages
3. Safer working conditions: Demand for safer working conditions
while working under hazardous situations
4. Health benefits to their families: Demand for health benefits as
it would help morally for labor to increase their productivity
So, also governments can work efficiently if it can identify and address the issues through unions so that in longrun it would help to improve the productivity and efficiency
