The closure of Millennium Approaches, the initial segment of Angels in America, is the cliffhanger of all cliffhangers. Section One arrives at its exciting decision when the holy messenger crashes through the roof of AIDS casualty Prior Walter's room.

There has been much anticipating and develop to her entry. A blazing book, a spooky envoy or two, and the heavenly attendant's own particular immaterial voice have all cautioned Prior that this delivery person is coming to have a word with him. Obviously, none of these obscure, grand messages have arranged Prior for the wonderful exhibition of a genuine heavenly attendant, plunging from space, bashing through the top of his flat, and droning, "Welcome Prophet; The Great Work starts: The Messenger has arrived".
