Solutions

Expert Solution

The constitution of Canada is the supreme law in Canada. It is a corroboration of acts and traditions and conventions. It is one of the oldest constitutional democracies in the world. It outlines the system of government as well as civil rights of all citizens.

The enactment of the charter of rights and freedom has changed the Canadian constitutional law fundamentally. The act codified many previously oral constitutional conventions and made amendment of constitution significantly more difficult.

The Canadian charter of right and freedom is a bill of rights added to the constitution in 1982. It is a powerful legal tool that protects the people living in Canada from breaches of specific rights and freedom by the federal and provincial government. The charter protects Canadians from the power of the state.

Charter cases require judges to weigh in social issues which were a matter of condemning for the court. It believed that a strong democracy needs to protect people's rights from the power of the state in its supreme law.
