Examples of variations in business:
- While qualitatively measuring the variance of taste or texture
of a consumer good, the customer so not take the average if the
tastes from last time, instead they think in terms of which one
tasted better the last time he bought it.
- Another variation example is measurement based on variation of
time not the average. For eg a customer measures the time the
courier service of a particular business take to ship a bigger item
compared to a relatively smaller item.
- In process variation the customer is always evaluating the
services , products and processes to determine how well they are
meeting their critical to quality. For example : the customers are
consistently evaluating and comparing the online shopping
sites.
- In businesses manufacturing, capital investment, sales ratio,
purchase rates etc have a positive effect which allows firms that
put more resources on performance better.
