Was it in opposition to the Market Revolution? How did it take advantage of social, economic, and cultural changes of the Market Revolution?
Ans.
The main goal of Second Great Awakening was to encourage people to
reform their lives in all ways whether social, political,
economical, etc. It was a response to the market revolution as
well. It brought a revolution in the market as many new reforms
were introduced for helping the economy economically. The market
was updated with the reforms and made it a whole new and better
place of working.
As the Second Great Awakening was beneficiary for the people in
many ways, it also changed the religious beliefs of people in many
ways. Thai impacted the market too. It had a positive impact on the
market. It shaped the religious and social lives of American people
as well as it changed the business activities and trading practices
of the economy.
The Second Great Awakening was an eye opener for all the sectors of
the economy. The revivals were the key part of movement and it
attracted many of the converts towards the new Protestant
denominations. It led to a period for antebellum social reform and
also provided salvation for the institutes.
