Solutions

Expert Solution

In order to grow successfully, microorganisms must have a supplynof water as well as numerous other substances including mineral elements, growth factors and gas such as oxygen, there are four things that can impact the growth of bacteria. these are temperatures, moisture, oxygen and a particular PH.

Answer: growth media

A growth medium or culture medium is solid ,liquid or semi solid designed to support the growth of microorganisms or small plants. there are two major types of growth media . they are cell culture which use specific cell types derived from plants or animals and microbiologic culture which are used for growing microorganisms such as bacteria or fungi.the most common growth media for microorganisms are nutrients broths and agar plates , specialized media are some times required for microorganisms and cell culture growth.

salt compounds

salt has been used as a preservative due to its antibacterial properties. salt kills some types of bacteria, effectively by sucking water out of them. in a process known as osmosis, water passes outof a bacterium so as to balance salt concentrationson each side of its cell membrane. so the salt compounds will not help for the growth of microorganisms

Yeast extract

Yeast extract is used in most media for microbes from plants and animals. some of these microbes require vitamins and other growth factors from their plant or animal hosts and yeast extract is rich in vitamins and minerals and digested nucleic acids. it is used in growth media for the devolopment of microorganisms. so it is not sufficient for growth of microorganisms

Aminoacids

Certain aminoacids will inhibit the growth of microorganisms. So aminoacids alone cannot help the growth of microorganisms
