Role of public health in the 21st century including strengths and weakness?

Here, we can take an example of the current ongoing medical crisis in the world- Outbreak of COVID -19

As its an infectious disease, transmitted from person to person, the role of public health gets elevated here.

Advantages-

When the population of a specific area, state or country remains healthy, the health status of that particular region is automatically considered to be in better state. The economy will be better, as they will have more man power. The health will be best in these regions, as they are able to maintain better public health. More number of healthy individuals will be in reproductive stage. A better public health region will have higher gap between the lowest age and highest age underging death due to any cause. The population will be better able to cope with any novel disease efficiently.

Disadvantages-

If the public health deteriorates, you can see increase in mortality rates. The economy and health infrastructure will be low in these regions. The population will fall sick to even slightest of normal infection. The man power will not be efficient in such cases.
