1)The movie 'In Good Company' was directed and written by Paul Weitz in the year 2004. This movie is mainly about two people; Dan and Carter. Dan, a 51 year old man, is an advertising executive and head of sales in sports America, a major sports magazine who has two daughters and a pregnant wife. On the other hand, Carte is a 26 years old man who replaces Dan and becomes the head of the company. He is dumped by his wife and faces loneliness but then meets Dan's elder daughter Alex and starts loving her. This movie is all about how the boss gives importance to the ideas and strategies of his employee; Carte respects Dan.
It's all about the lives of two people and how they manage when faced with real life situations. It shows how Dan faced the situation when he got demoted but still remained motivated because of the fact on how he will manage his family.
2) For me this movie was worth watching. It clearly highlights the real life situations which a common man faces. What value I have perceived from this movie were honesty, respect, love, affection.
When Carte refuses to Fire Dan and uses his strategy to seal the contract, he kept in mind both the strategies i.e., how to respect the employee and also the benefit of the company.
And how Dan, despite getting demoted, remained positive and worked hard to serve his family as he was going to welcome the third baby, and bearing expenses of Alex's university fees.
3) Human Resource management or HRM theory, is an approach which aims at the management of people or the employees of a company in a way that the company gains advantage. It is mainly concerned with the management of employees in terms of benefits of employees, recruitment, training, reward management and overall progress of the employees, which will also lead to the success of the company.
In the movie 'In good company', there are some scenes or situations which can be directly linked to the theory of HRM.
