Starting from 1940's , the U.S. President administration has struggled to reform the health care to meet the health care needs of U.S. residents President Barack Obama declared early in his administration that the major priority will be 'health care for all'. In 2010, The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act ( ACA)was launched.

Debates about the Affordable Care Act was still going on and no one can predict the uncertanities of Health Care by Trump Administration. Public uncertanity about personal coverage and methods of financing care are major concerns.

Problems in current health care system

  • Most care providers recognize the problems inherent in offering care to the uninsured and under insured.
  • Disparities in care of low-socioeconomic group and vulnerable populations (e.g. Children and elderly and groups with specific health concerns (e.g. persons with diabetes, smokers) present enormous challenges
  • Nurses have proffered solutions that have been taken seriously by policy makers
  • Nurses has to expand their boundaries of their practice and require skills in negotiation,diplomacy, assertiveness, expert communication and leadership
  • Nurses must speak out as articulate, knowledgeble , caring professionals who contribute the whole health agenda and who advocate for their patients and community
