Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
SYSTEMIC LUPUS ERYTHEMATOSUS is also called as LUPUS .
Lupus is a autoimmune disease,were the immune system attacks the body's own tissue which leads to inflammation and tissue damage.The disease can effect any part of the body, but commonly seen in heart,joints, skin ,lungs ,blood vessels,liver, kidney and nervous system.
ETIOLOGY: Etiology is currently unknown but there are several factors involved in it.
SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS:

Complete blood count,ESR,Comprehensive metabolic panel,creatine phosphokinase,urinalysis,serologies,renal biopsy
PROGNOSIS
Usually chronic, relapsingand unpreditable,remission may last for years.If initial acute phase is controlled, even if very severe long term prognosis is good.Most severe conditionds require more toxic therapies, which increase risk of mortality.
TREATMENT
Drugs with least side effect,lowest dose to control disease,long term damage preventions.
Mild disease avoid steriods .
severe cases aggressive treatment.
NSAIDs-ACETAMINOPHEN
CORTICOSTEROIDS-PREDNISONE
ANTI-MALARIAL-HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE
