Considering the history of Great Britain and the U.S., do you think that it was wise for Great Britain to serve as America's ally in the fight against terror? Base your response on your current knowledge of global affairs.

Relationship between US and Great Britain is foremost example of friendship in international relation. Great Britain was helped by the US in second world war. It was not possible to win against the Germany and Japan during the second world war. It was US who with his economic and military power helped UK and other countries to defeat Nazi forces.

Britain is no longer super power in international arena. there is growing threat of terrorism across the world. Hence, issue of security has become foremost matter of concern across the world. US strong network across the world and its strategy to fight against terrorism would be beneficial to its allies.

Britain does not need to invest in defence heavily as long as it gets possible help from US in case of emergency and political crisis.

Further, US is big economic super power. Britain gets major investments from US which is beneficial to Britain.

Hence, economic and political benefits make it needful for Britain to stay with US.
