Outline a research design using observation for each of the following situations:
Please use 3-4 complete sentences for each of the four: Approach, Research Techniques, Sampling, and Data Collection. Each number must be answered with all four (Approach, Research Techniques, Sampling, and Data Collection).
Research Approaches
There are two approaches, which are known as deductive and inductive approach. The deductive approach provides overview of positive and negative aspects. T expose the relationship between different variables. Whereas, inductive approach is applied for small samples. It focus on critical analysis of issues and finding the alternative to solve issues.
Research Techniques
There are two typoes of research techniques. These are qualitative and quantitaive techniques. The qualitative technique doesn’t use any kind of numeric data and solely use for the purpose to explore in depth human behaviour and thoughts. The qunatitiave research technique use numeric data and provide objectivity. Observation and interview techniques are used in qualitative research. It is generally used in a situations where researcher wants to know the numbers. Surveys are used in quantitaive technique.
Sampling
Sampling is process to select few participants from whole population. It can be random and non-random sampling. In Random sampling, every unit has equal chance to get selected wheres in non randam sampling, selection of unit is based on researhcer’s decision. Random sampling is moe suitable in large population and quantittauve studies whereas non-random sampling is suitable in small population and qualitative studies.
Data collection
Data can be collected through two methods. These methods are known as primary and secondary data. Primary data is collected for the purpose of research only. Secondary data is already collected for previous research and is used again for present research. Primary data is collected through interview, questionaire and observations. Secondary data is collected through online and offline publications, books etc.
