2) Increasing use of EHR system has affected the communication between patient and health care provider. One method to overcome this barrier is to share the EHR screen with the patient or read loudly what has been entered in the record. Following are some benefits of doing so....
A) Patient will not feel neglected. If the screen is not shared the health care provider is not able to maintain an eye contact with patient and is bound to see in the screen for data entry. This startegy of reading aloud the entry or sharing the screen can minimize the patients feeling of beleving.
B) Any mistakes made while managing patient data can be corrected by the patient, which help to minimize the wrong data entry.
