A 25-year-old Arab American man is one day post-operative following vascular surgery. There have been no post-surgical complications. He tells his family that he is “in terrible pain”, and he reports ratings of 2 to 3 on 0-10 numeric rating scale to the nursing staff. He requests pain medication every two to three hours, and will not get out of bed or ambulate.
Identify and state a priority nursing diagnosis label for your assigned client related to pain.
Develop and state three (3) nursing interventions for this nursing diagnosis label or patient problem. When planning individualized nursing interventions, consider the patient’s type of pain and cultural perspective.
Provide your rationale or reasoning for each intervention chosen. Identify another interdisciplinary team member and an action they could take to help resolve the chosen client problem or nursing diagnosis.

CASE 1-26 Clinical Vocabularies You have been hearing the subject of clinical vocabularies discussed frequently at several meetings. Since the concept will impact the HIM department of your ambulatory surgical center, you recognize the need to research the subject more thoroughly to be able to articulate the needs not only of your department but also of the facility in general.
1. What vocabularies do you have to choose from?
2. What are the functions of each of these vocabularies?
3. Is the vocabulary appropriate for your setting and purposes?
4. Based on your description, which vocabulary or vocabularies would you choose? Justify your decision.
Please use APA format and cite your sources

Last week, Canada announced that they would launch a pilot program that would set up ATM-like vending machines to dispense hydromorphone to those who are addicted to opioids. Many see this intervention as a novel and potentially unconventional way to address the problems with opioid abuse. Please read the article here before responding. I would like to know your thoughts on this approach. What are the risks and benefits? Do you believe that this approach will be effective?

Please, give a short and good answer.
Suppose your small, general medicine physician group is offered a capitated managed care contract. Through this contract, the group will be paid on a capitated basis. This means that the medical group will be paid a fixed amount for each patient and will be responsible for all of the costs of each patient’s care. What are the pros and cons of such a contract? What are the key pieces of information provided in this scenario that are critical to the decision to accept or reject the capitated contract? If you were the practice manager, what additional information would you want to have in making this decision?

The epidemiologists decided to undertake a more rigorous study design to identify if other behaviors or risk factors, apart from drinking water, may be driving the increased blood lead levels observed among children in Flint, Michigan. After receiving parental permission, the investigators conducted a screening of children attending public schools in Flint, Michigan. To determine lead exposure, all children underwent a blood draw for lead testing. Per the current Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommendation, a blood lead level of 5 μg/dL was used to identify children with abnormally high blood lead levels. The investigators selected a sample of children with blood lead levels ≥ 5 μg/dL and a sample with blood lead levels < 5 μg/dL. The epidemiologists interviewed children and their parents regarding potential exposure to lead from multiple sources, including consumption of certain root vegetables that maybe grown in contaminated soil, source of drinking water, exposure to pesticides in the home, living in a house with peeling paint, living with adults whose job involves battery recycling or processing, etc. as well as socioeconomic characteristics of the family (highest level of education attained by the parents, annual income, race/ethnicity, etc.).
What type of epidemiological study design did the authors undertake? Explain your answer. Define recall bias and describe how it may specifically play a role in this study. Do you think social desirability bias could play a role in this particular study? Why or why not?
