Unfavorable changes with time and due to various metabolic processes in body composition have long been observed with aging. Loss of lean mass (LM) and accumulation of abdominal fat are most important changes that continuously take place in all adults and individuals as they age. All these events have been found to be associated with an increased risk of the development of type 2 diabetes in older adults. This is of high importance from a public health perspective where aging of the population specially developed countries is considered a factor contributing to the global burden of type 2 diabetes. The pattern and rate of age-related changes in body composition will vary by sex, race, region, physical activity level, diet and caloric intake. Recent evidences from longitudinal studies have shown differences in the pattern of body composition changes in adults by diabetes status. In this article, we reviewed body composition changes that take place in adults after the diagnosis of type 2 diabetes and compared them to those observed in adults without diabetes as they age.
Q1. How impressive the beginning of the study is? Give specific reasons in support of your answers.
Q2. What are the objectives of this study?
Q3. Suggest and write a short title of this study.
Q4. What type of strategies will you suggest to avoid these complications in adults with type 2 diabetes as age advances?
