Expert Solution

Surveying people only you know is likely to generate a Biased information. Surveying people is a type of Sampling method and it has always some inherent weakness associated with it. One of thethe weakness of sampling method is Biased information which results from taking information from similar kind of people.

People having similar experiences or have a similar characteristics tend to show same information as one another and surveying them would lead to generate a bias information only. Because the other kind of people who have different experiences have not given the information which is also relevant for coming up to an unbiased information generation.

Example, when we talk about political party selection, a particular area of people tend to give positive view towards one particular party, because they all have faced similar experiences and have shared events which are likely to be common in everyone's life.

This is also possible that the particular set of people have only experience the one part of of the event and the path of event is not faced by then hence the information might not be fully correct as well.

Hence, surveying only people you know is likely to generate a biased information. When we serve a people only we know they end up giving the experiences that we have already faced and the answers will be similar to our own answers and the information will not be unbiased. People who do not know might have different experiences in their life.

Another example would be, I go to a particular store regularly because I like a product there and people around me also go to that particular store, on my recommendation and they liked the product as well. Now I feel like the product that I I am using is best one and I take the survey from the people I know about the product and they are all give the positive review. I am not able to get the information about another product and this information is biased.

On the other hand if I would have taken the survey of people I don't know they would give some other experiences are my and recommending some other good products as well which is called an unbiased information.
