Question 1: Briefly summarize the progress that has been made with regards to Poverty, Sanitation, and HIV incidence aspects of the 17 SDGs. Additionally, discuss the challenges faced in making progress with regards to these three issues, and policies in play to help mitigate or overcome these challenges.
Firstly 17 SDG's means 17 Sustainable Development Goals
1. The poverty rate had been fallen swiftly. It almost fell down to thirds of 1990's value in 2013. Although majority of poverty has been eliminated since 1990 but still poverty persist in its worst form. As of 2013, eleven percentage of world's population resides in this specific areas.
2. Coming to sanitation. unsafe sanitation, unsafe drinking water is still a major cause for the incline of mortality rate. As of 2015, 29% of world's population lack in managing safe drinking water. As of the same year 2015, more than 890 million people still defecate in an open area and shockingly more than 60% of the population are without any sanitation facilities.
3. Luckily, the infected people with HIV decline from 0.40 per 1000 uninfected people to 0.26 per 1000 uninfected people. But the women with reproductive age limit, the rate is higher by 2.58 per 1000 uninfected people in the area of Sub-Saharan Africa.
4. Disconnecting economic growth as from the use of resources is the most crucial and complex challenge as is faced by the human face.
5. This requires a change in business practices and global value chain and are the primary sources to make a drastic change in the economic growth globally. But to implement this, there should be change in policies implementing both physical and social infrastructure and also the markets
