It is very important for a nurse to think from these three perspectives

1) Thinking ahead

Evidence based practices is necessary. It helps the nurse to know or think of the future outcome from the evidences in the past and act accordingly. By thinking ahead the nurse has an idea of patient outcome, which will help in planning beforehand.It also help nurse to prepare patient and relatives accordingly for the plan of care.

2) Thinking in action

It is essential in nursing diagnosis process because it helps in evaluating clinical history according to the subjective and objective data comparision

- It helps in grouping if main signs and symptoms to prioritize the nursing diagnosis.

-Technical and scientific knowledge is useful during this perspective of thinking to formulate appropriate nursing diagnosis.

-Logical thinking is also required to organise the data

3)Thinking back

while making any nursing diagnosis, nurse uses her past experience. Experience in the similar clinical case in the past help in formulation of the diagnosis and effective caring.
