Ethical Considerations Jameela has been Omar's personal assistant for five years. She really enjoys her job and also appreciates the fact that Omar allows her to get involved in the day-to-day activities of the office. In addition, Jameela is consulted and gives feedback on the advertising campaigns that Omar prepares. At this point, CREATE ADS has landed one of its largest accounts. However, Omar felt that his creativity was lacking and he was having great difficulty coming up with a unique campaign for his clients. As usual, he asked Jameela for her input. In fact, she offered a very original idea that enabled Omar to com- plete the project. Jameela was satisfied with her contribu- tion and she was sure that Omar would acknowledge her efforts and generously reward her. Imagine her disappointment when, during the presen- tation to his clients, Omar told them that it was his idea. The clients loved it

. Jameela was shocked! Was Omar right to behave that way? Explain.

If you were Jameela, how would you react? What affect would this have on your motivation?

Solutions

Expert Solution

On the ethical consideration Omar was not right to behave that way because it was the idea of Jameela and as she was his personal assistant and was helping before by giving feedback to Omar's advertising agency (CREATE ADS).

Omar should have given credit to Jameela. So that Jameela would get motivated by her efforts and that also help her to learn more ideas.

Ethical business practices does not include any such things which can not be tolerated.

*** If I were Jameela, I would have complaint against this and would have given clear indication to my boss, that if he would do this again, I shall never help him out in any such situations.

*** If I were Jameela, I would have been dissatisfied and a slight demoted, but I would have courage to pursue my own ideas to get out of the box for further improvement of my business career..
