There are five categories of adopters that divides the consumers into different segments :-
1. Innovators :- This type of individuals are risk takers and innovative. They implement those ideas into action in well planned manner even after knowing that there are lots of risks attached to the plan. They are technology enthusiast and have high social status.
2. Early Adopters :- These people tries new product available in the market and have the ability to influence other people based on their opinions. They are conscious about their high social status. They are not risk takers like innovators but easily adapts to the new product.
3. Early Majority :- These people adopts the product a lot later than the early adopters and buys the product on practical usage instead of showing off. They have low social status and have more utility demands.
4. Late Majority :- Individual in this category adopts to an innovation after half of the average people have used and tried them. They are very skeptical to an innovation and does not have social status. They are very little opiniated.
5. Laggards :- Individuals in this category have little or no opinion regarding a product and are highly skeptical. They are very slow to adapt to new ideas and are mostly forced to adopt it because everyone have it.
In the first question Eric does not like to make any purchase decision and most likely use them after everyone have already tried them, so he is late Majority adopter of the product. The answer is LATE MAJORITY.
