Tale-

A tale refers to a story made to seem imaginative and unreal. A tale can include anything from magical beings (fairy tales) and spells to oral traditions and myths passed on from one generation to another (folk tales).

Short Story-

A short story refers to a short narrative that is written to either entertain or convey a moral theme to the readers. It has limited characters and often concentrates on one central event.

Protagonist-

A protagonist is a central character who tries to resolve the conflict in the story. A protagonist is often portrayed as the "good guy" so that the audience can empathize with him and root for him.

Antagonist-

An antagonist is the main force who tries to create conflict in the story. An antagonist is often portrayed as the "villain" of the story. An antagonist in a story could either be a single character or a group of characters trying to defeat the protagonist.
