How would an interactionist explain deviance as it relates to social bonds?
Interactionist is a theory where mind and body affect each other.
Deviance is the fact or state of diverging from usual standards.
Interaction ist perspective of sociology views society as a product of everyday social interactions of individuals.
Social groups create diviance by making the rules, and applying those rules to particular people and labelling them as outsiders, it is not a quality of act a person commits but the application by others to the offenders.label defines an individual as a particular kind of person. There are no behavior that are deviant, instead deviant actions are something which are defined as deviant.
Interactionist emphasises the importance of the meaning the various actors bring to and develop within the situation. It recognises the meaning are not fixed and clear cut
